Trabajo informal y género: una mirada desde la perspectiva femenina

Informal women workers face numerous challenges that affect both their work and their physical and mental health, as well as their general well-being. Addressing these issues requires greater formalisation of work, access to health and social security services, and the implementation of public policies that promote gender equality and better working conditions. It is essential to recognise and ensure that women workers have access to conditions that allow them to develop in a healthy and dignified manner. Current policies in Spain to address informal work have made progress, especially in terms of regulation and social protection, but still face important challenges. A combination of labour inspection measures, tax incentives, social security reforms and employment programmes aim to reduce informality, although effective implementation remains a challenge. For these policies to succeed, education on labour rights, improving inspection capacity and strengthening the fight against discrimination and inequality in access to formal working conditions will be key.
