Semana de saúde mental: a experiência do capacitar para o cuidado
Mental health promotion has been gaining ground in national and international policy guidelines for workers' health over the years. It is a device for promoting care to provide reflection, support, and dialogue, especially regarding emotional well-being. This research report aims to present an experience that has been taking place for 7 years as an activity to promote mental health among federal public servants. The construction refers to the Mental Health Week, which occurs as a 20-hour training course annually promoted by the interdisciplinary team of a SIASS Unit, combining theoretical aspects and educational practices. The proposal was constructed from the perspective of the health promotion axis advocated by PASS (Public Servant Health Assistance Policy). Thus, documentary methodology and descriptive analysis of public reports generated through interviews with participating civil servants were used, in addition to team records such as reports and field diaries. From the results obtained in the literature review study, it was possible to identify that although many agencies carry out mental health promotion actions, few write about the subject, allowing for the scientific dissemination of the topic and dialogue with other professionals. Furthermore, it was identified that the activities have achieved their objectives according to the analysis of the responses from the employees who participate in Mental Health Week, corroborating our hypothesis that training in mental health can produce important results in improving services and assisting in the reflection and promotion of self-care among employees.
