Romper con la escuela tradicional: un estudio sobre los logros y las dificultades de las prácticas innovadoras según la visión del profesorado
The aim of the study is to analyze the defining characteristics and implications of different innovative practices in educational institutions, while pinpointing the key facilitating elements, achievements, challenges, and suggestions for improvement. In adherence to qualitative methodology principles, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 21 educators spearheading innovative practices in public educational institutions within the province of Huelva (Spain). Utilizing ATLAS.ti software for data analysis, 2 emergent categories, 9 dimensions, 21 codes, and 535 citations were identified. Primary findings underscore facilitative factors such as the engagement of the educational community and the use of active methodologies centered around meaningful learning. The training and prior experience of teaching staff also play pivotal roles. Achievements are linked to student involvement and learning, enhancements in didactic processes, and the dissemination of experiences. Nevertheless, cultural hurdles, resistance to change, deficiencies in training, and operational and managerial obstacles are identified. Recommendations are made for improvements in innovative practice design and ensuring proper embedding. In conclusion, these innovative practices are implemented by the impetus of teaching staff and edu-cational communities, optimizing resources, and minimizing deficiencies to enhance student learning.
