A resiliência e a paixão como variáveis psicológicas preditoras do overtraining em ciclistas amadores de mountain bike
Introduction: Harmonious passion is related to high resilience, while obsessive passion pro-duces low resilience or no resilience. Is it hypothesized that higher levels of harmonious pas-sion and resilience act as predictive variables for a lower level of overtraining in amateur moun-tain bike riders? Objective: The present study aimed to analyze the variables of passion and resilience as predic-tors of over-training in amateur mountain bike cyclists.Methodology: 108 cyclists participated in the study. Participants responded to the Passion Scale Questionnaire, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (Cd-Risc-10) and the overtraining ques-tionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, One-Way Anova, Pear-son Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression tests (p < 0.05).Results: The results demonstrated that harmonious passion correlated positively with obses-sive passion and resilience and negatively with overtraining, a fact also verified between resil-ience and overtraining. The model consisting of the dimensions of passion and resilience ex-plained 15% of the variability in over-training perceived by amateur mountain bike riders. Only resilience presented a negative prediction on overtraining (β = -0.25; p <0.05). When compar-ing according to practice time, no significant differences were found between the age groups. Conclusion: The results revealed that the model consisting of the dimensions of passion and resilience explained 15% of the variability in cyclists' perceived over-training. However, only resilience presented a negative prediction on overtraining, indicating that resilience is a pre-dictor of over-training.
