Prevent Falls By Including Bedside Shift Report

This research presentation expresses the importance of including bedside shift report a part of shift change. The benefits of completing bedside shift report increases the patient safety, satisfaction and decreases anxiety of being in the hospital. The goal of this presentation is to encourage hospitals to implement bedside shift report on their units to help prevent falls and increase patient safety. Through unit meetings and unit discussions the staff can understand the reasoning behind making bedside shift report mandatory.
