Om skapandet av ett simuleringsramverk för MEC-nätverk i Python

Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) is a network architecture designed to enhance cloud computing by leveraging its capabilities for computation offloading while also addressing latency and congestion issues. This thesis presents a simulation framework for an abstracted version of the MEC architecture aimed at identifying optimal configurations and conditions for MEC networks. The framework provides fundamental functionality for simulating services processed within this architecture and is designed to be expandable and adaptable for future research. Developed using Python and the SimPy library for discrete event simulations, the simulator allows easy setup, a high configuration level, and the generation of detailed data results. The simulator is demonstrated through a straightforward test run that covers the setup process, its runtime, and some of the data generated. There are several ways to improve this simulator, such as implementing automated data analysis for the outputs or incorporating AI technology to identify optimal configurations.
