Optimalisatie van Metaalhalide Perovskieten door Integratie in Poreuze Materialen

In this project, we will stabilize perovskite QDs inside self-synthesized nanoporous crystalline silica-based materials (nanoSils). Until now the development of perovskite QDs confined in nanoSils is still in its infancy and the long-term stabilization required for LED phosphors has not yet been accomplished. Zeolites are one type of nanoSils, and since the local environment of the luminescent perovskite QD has been shown to strongly impact the luminescence we will also explore related materials, with similar crystalline structure but different elemental composition such as silicoaluminophosphates (SAPOs) and titanosilicates (TSs) will be evaluated. To fully exploit the size dependent luminescent properties of the perovskite QDs, mesoporous silica materials such as MCM-41 with tunable pore dimensions will be used. The project will also focus on the understanding of the fundamental principles of the host/guest interaction and the relation to the optical properties of the materials.
