BIM Implementation
The construction industry is currently facing a transformation. The digitalization of society is affecting the working methods within the construction industry. A new phase in how construction is carried out is about to begin. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is considered the next step in terms of quality and safe methods for complete construction projects. Increasing demands are being placed on contractors to use BIM as a working method in construction projects. RO-Gruppen is a rapidly growing construction company. Their vision is to build a better world. Therefore, there was interest in exploring the possibilities of implementing BIM as a working method. How would this affect their way of working, and what opportunities would it provide them to continue expanding in the market? For the implementation of BIM to yield results, it is essential that clear goals are set by management, and that a vision for the working method is created. This ensures that everyone knows why the implementation is taking place. It is important that everyone works towards the same goal and has a shared direction. Training plays a significant role to ensure that the working method functions well. To turn ignorance into knowledge and to develop a unique BIM strategy, a solid and clear foundation is required. Challenges are found, among other things, within the older generation, primarily among workers with less experience using computers. A new working method may bring difficulties, and a positive attitude towards new ways of working is necessary. It is important to start with the right things when it comes to the initial steps of a BIM implementation. Good knowledge of the required software is key to be able to work with the method. Implementing BIM is the right step forward in the development of smarter construction. The many possibilities of the working method contribute to strengthening the company's position in the market.
