In addition to its magnitude and mortality, the diagnosis of cancer represents a problem of great relevance to public health and in the midst of an unequal scenario in access to health services, the increased severity experienced by northeastern women diagnosed with cancer becomes evident. malignant neoplasm of the breast. Therefore, the objective of this research was to describe the prevalence, staging and therapeutic modality of malignant breast neoplasia in women in northeastern Brazil between 2020 and 2023. The epidemiological, cross-sectional study, with a quantitative-descriptive approach was carried out in the Information System of the Cancer (SISCAN) via DATASUS. The findings noted a growing increase in the number of cases in all states in northeastern Brazil in the period analyzed, with 39.90% corresponding to the age group between 40 and 59 years old. Regarding the staging of the diagnosis, 29.72% of the 57,247 cases are stage 3, with the most used therapeutic measure being chemotherapy. The evaluation and continuous monitoring of cancer control actions allow the identification of these barriers and the planning of measures to overcome them. The results of this study highlight the need for public policies aimed at expanding access to early diagnosis, strengthening treatment networks and promoting educational campaigns to reduce risk factors, seeking to improve the prognosis and quality of life of patients.
