Movilidad Estudiantil como Estrategia para el Fortalecimiento Académico y Cultural: Análisis de Impacto en Instituciones Educativas

Student mobility has been recognized as a key strategy in the educational field for the academic and cultural strengthening of students. This phenomenon allows students to expand their horizons, interact with new cultures, and acquire essential skills for a globalized world. The internationalization of education, which includes student mobility, has proven to be crucial for the development of intercultural skills and the formation of a global citizenship, capable of adapting to diverse contexts. Throughout history, student mobility has evolved from academic pilgrimages in the Middle Ages to current structured programs, such as the Fulbright and Erasmus Programs, which have facilitated educational exchange at an international level. These types of programs promote intercultural learning, the development of linguistic skills, and global cooperation, contributing significantly to the comprehensive education of students. This study used a quantitative and descriptive methodology, with the aim of analyzing the impact of student mobility on academic and cultural development. A survey was conducted among 20 people involved in student mobility programs, the purpose of which was to identify perceptions about the benefits, challenges, and barriers of these programs. The results showed that 80% of respondents considered student mobility programs to be "very important" for the comprehensive training of students. This consensus highlights the relevance of these programs not only in the academic field, but also in the development of intercultural skills essential for students in a globalized world. Regarding the acquisition of intercultural and linguistic skills, 70% of respondents indicated that the programs contribute significantly to these aspects. However, 30% considered the impact to be moderate, suggesting that the duration and level of cultural immersion could limit the benefits. These findings underline the need to design more personalized and comprehensive mobility programs to ensure greater immersion and a more enriching experience.
