MARGINALIZACIÓN INADVERTIDA EN LA MIGRACIÓN VENEZOLANO-ECUATORIANA Y PAUTAS PARA ROMPER SU CICLO PERPETUADOR DE DESIGUALDADES
Between the two extremes of the social exclusion-integration spectrum, we addressed the first one. We analyzed the problem of social inequalities of Venezuelan immigrants in Ecuador to understand their perceptions of impositions, discriminations, and marginalizations, and proposed the presence of a perpetuating cycle. We used a qualitative approach complemented with quantitative techniques such as correlation matrices and Boolean algebra to strengthen our interpretation of the information. We characterized each category and found three configurations for marginalization. The most important factor in the intergenerational transmission of vulnerability was the difficulty in certifying official Venezuelan documents, which slows down labor integration, which, in turn, is what grants social rights, self-esteem, and stabilization. This opened a line of research on public policies and social devices that interrupt the cycle.
