Mapeando a rede de cuidados e serviços na Atenção à saúde da gestante na Região do Baixo Amazonas, Pará
Objective: To map the healthcare and service network for pregnant women in the Baixo Amazonas region, focusing on analyzing the coverage ofthe health services provided. Methods: The study adopted a descriptive and quantitative approach, using secondary data from the National Register of Health Establishments (CNES) and information provided by the State Health Department (SESPA). Results: A centralization of obstetric care was observed in the municipality of Santarém, which stood out as the main reference hub for the region, absorbing a large portion of the demand from smaller municipalities like Faro, Placas, and Prainha, which showed limitations in offering surgical and clinical services. The dependency of smaller municipalities on referrals for more complex cases to Santarém reveals weaknesses in the local healthcare network, particularly in terms of infrastructure and human resources. Conclusion: Despite the structure provided by Santarém, there is an urgent need for improvements in the smaller municipalities of the Baixo Amazonas region, Pará, to ensure equitable and efficient healthcare.
