Karbon noktalarının farklı kil mineralleri üzerindeki etkisi
Climate changes, increasing population, and decreasing soil quality create challenges in food security on a global scale. Traditional agricultural methods are insufficient to support sustainable agricultural production, making it essential to develop a high-performance and sustainable agricultural system to effectively address the issue of food insecurity. In recent years, there have been promising developments in the use of nanotechnology in agriculture to increase input efficiency in agricultural areas, enhance food production and safety, and address agricultural and environmental problems. Due to their chemical and physical properties, there is a rapid increase in the use of nanoparticles, a product of nanotechnology, in various fields. Carbon dots (CDs), defined as quasi-carbon materials with sizes typically ranging from 0.1 to 20 nm, have recently become quite popular. Carbon dots, which exhibit distinct differences from previously studied carbon forms in terms of structure and properties, attract attention with their various physicochemical qualities, including high biocompatibility and high stability. This study aims to examine research on carbon dots, which significantly enhance soil aggregation and productivity and are a component of ash. Research indicates that carbon dots and clay composites have the potential to provide innovative solutions for environmental and agricultural applications. In this context, the interactions between carbon dots and different clay minerals are examined in detail, focusing on electrostatic interactions, van der Waals forces, and surface functionalization processes, and evaluating the effects of these interactions on efficiency and adsorption capacity.
