This article aims to establish a national and international regulatory framework for the rights of victims in various proceedings, acknowledging their capacities and limitations within each legal system. Drawing on a legal and jurisprudential quest, we aim to show how the victim's figure and role have evolved gaining clear and undisputable prominence in the proceedings of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia. Data were described, classified, interpreted, and explained in the light of a jurisprudential and doctrinal analysis. A descriptive-explanatory examination of relevant norms and decisions suggest the victims' figure has evolved in the various proceedings.
