The integration of gastronomic tourism into hotel occupancy represents a key strategy to strengthen tourism development in Ayolas, Paraguay. This article, entitled “Integration of gastronomic tourism into hotel occupancy in the city of Ayolas, Paraguay – 2024”, analyzes the factors that limit and enhance this synergy, with a particular focus on microenterprises and small hotel businesses in the region. The main objective was to describe the context of the integration of gastronomic services into the hotel offering in the city of Ayolas, year 2024. To do so, a qualitative methodology based on interviews with hotel owners and managers was used, complemented by customer/guest feedback. The findings show that limitations include the lack of adequate infrastructure, the lack of trained personnel, and the low use of local products. Despite these barriers, valuable opportunities were identified, such as the possibility of collaborating with local restaurants and promoting traditional dishes to reinforce the cultural identity of the region. The integration of gastronomic tourism in Ayolas hotels requires concerted efforts. Recommendations include promoting staff training, improving hotel infrastructure and diversifying the local gastronomic offering. These actions will contribute to positioning Ayolas as a competitive and sustainable tourist destination in the regional market.
