Hybrid model for research data management

In today’s complex research environment, the role of research managers is essential for ensuring optimal support in navigating regulations and\nsecuring funding. At UHasselt, we’ve introduced a hybrid model to support researchers, combining centralized programme management with\ndecentralized, faculty-specific guidance.\nThrough extensive consultation with all internal stakeholders, we have developed a research manager profile that addresses the unique needs of\nour academic community. Embedded within faculties and research institutes, research managers offer tailored support for thematic calls while\nthe central office manages broader policies and global programmes. This dual structure allows for flexibility, making UHasselt’s research\nadministration more responsive and effective.\nWe continuously evaluate the impact of research managers, using specific metrics. In tandem, we foster a collaborative learning network to\ninspire growth and connect research to the world stage.
