Hiperactividad en los estudiantes del primer ciclo nivel primario, en la Escuela María Trinidad Sánchez

The objective of this research was to analyze, from the perspective of teachers, Hyperactivity Disorder (HAD) in students in the first cycle of the María Trinidad Sánchez School in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. The study adopted a qualitative approach, using ethnographic research to explore teachers' experiences and perceptions regarding this disorder. A semi-structured interview validated by expert judgment (validity index: 0.90) was applied to six teachers selected from a total of eighteen who worked at the school during the second semester of the year 2024. The data analysis was carried out with ATLAS.Ti software, based on three categories: teaching performance, presence of THA in schoolchildren and intervening elements in the educational process. The findings reveal that THA directly affects students' concentration, discipline and academic performance. It was evidenced that most teachers do not have the necessary training to adequately address this condition. As conclusions, THA is a growing problem in the school context, so it is recommended to implement teacher training programs and specific pedagogical strategies to improve the educational care of these students.
