Impacto da pandemia de COVID-19 nas infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde: protocolo de revisão de escopo
Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) compromise patient safety, increasing the number of deaths and bringing costs to the hospital, especially in Intensive Care Units (ICU). Therefore, it is necessary to understand the dynamics of HAIs in the COVID-19 pandemic context. Its objective is to map the scientific evidence on the impacts of the pandemic on HAIs in ICUs. This is a scoping review protocol registered on the Open Science Framework (OSF) platform with DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/CPT4M, carried out according to methodological criteria proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) for scoping reviews and in the Preferred Reporting checklist Items for Systematic reviews and Meta Analyzes extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Using the mnemonic PCC, in which the population (P) is made up of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs), the concept (C), Intensive Care Units (ICU) and the context (C) COVID-19 pandemic, with the guiding question: “What is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Healthcare-Associated Infections in Intensive Care Units?”. The results will provide support for possible original studies related to nursing care for ICU patients in order to prevent HAIs and also highlight possible knowledge gaps.
