Growing Effects of Antibiotic Resistance

Antibiotic resistance is a growing problem across our world. Because of the overuse and negligence when it comes to what we put into our earth, such as soil, humans are beginning to become negatively affected by the overconsumption of antibiotics. This project is designed to highlight the concerns and facts surfacing around microbes (bacteria) in our soil population, that are inhibiting signs of antibiotic resistance. This research is crucial to the understanding of how dangerous antibiotic resistance is becoming to so many across the world. When an individual begins to show signs of antibiotic resistance, it can make treating and preventing illnesses incredibly difficult, and can even be deadly. Throughout my time researching, I have found staggering results. Some of the microbes found in my soil sample that I collected inhibited sings of antibiotic resistance, which proves the point of the research. With that being said, there is proof that there are microbes in our environment that will not be treated with the use of every-day antibiotics, which is a huge cause for concern.
