Funcionalidad familiar y adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica en hemodiálisis, en un hospital de segundo nivel
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health problem that is increasing; the role played by the family is important in adaptation to the disease. The study of therapeutic adherence is important due to the impact it has on patient survival and quality of life. Objective: to know the correlation between family functionality and treatment adherence in patients diagnosed with CKD who attend the hemodialysis service of the Regional General Hospital No. 1 "Vicente Guerrero", Acapulco, Gro. Materials and methods: cross-sectional-analytical research was carried out in 98 patients of the hemodialysis clinic, the family APGAR test and Morisky-Green were applied to measure family functionality and therapeutic adherence respectively. The statistical program SPSS v29.0 was used to obtain descriptive and inferential statistics, Pearson correlation. Results: It was found that 85.7% of patients have functional families, with a higher incidence of female sex (57.1%), married (43.9%), age >60 years (60.2%), 1 to 5 years of CKD diagnosis (35.7%) and DM/HBP comorbidities (48%). It was determined that the most prevalent level of adherence to treatment was medium adherence with 50%; and high adherence with 29.6%. The correlation of family functionality and therapeutic adherence using Pearson coefficient obtained a value of 0.024. Conclusions: Functional families in 8 out of 10 patients, with medium and high therapeutic adherence level in more than half of the patients, a positive correlation was demonstrated between functional families with good therapeutic adherence.
