This article presents a summary of a qualitative investigation that examines in depth the challenges and opportunities presented by digital manufacturing. The main objective is to analyze the impacts of this technology on society and the environment, identifying strategies to promote responsible, sustainable, and equitable technological development. The methodology is based on the analysis and synthesis of information from digital journal articles, expert blogs, and relevant reports, addressing the topics from a holistic perspective that considers both positive and negative aspects. At the center of the analysis are four key strategies: accelerationism, dematerialization, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. The results highlight environmental and social challenges that must be addressed responsibly by implementing strategies that integrate sustainable design, circular economy principles, and public policies that foster ethical and equitable practices. Continuous research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and commitment to responsible innovation are key elements for maximizing the benefits and minimizing the risks of this technological transformation.
