Evaluación de Riesgo Ergonómico a Personal de Servicios Generales en Universidad Internacional del Ecuador
Ergonomics, being a scientific discipline that studies the working conditions that help minimize musculoskeletal conditions and promote the well-being of workers, is the cornerstone for the application of a preventive technique against occupational diseases. This study aims to evaluate the ergonomic risk factors in the operating staff of the International University of Ecuador, using the methodology of the National Institute of Safety and Hygiene at Work (INSHT). Four jobs were evaluated: gardening, maintenance, warehouse and grooms. The results showed that three of these jobs, especially in gardening, maintenance and warehouse, present intolerable ergonomic risks, which indicates the urgent need to implement corrective and preventive measures. It will be verified that the staff does not carry out adequate manual lifting of loads, and the interviews revealed that the gardening staff suffers from pain in the dorsal-lumbar region, attributable to ergonomic risk factors. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of carrying out systematic ergonomic risk assessments in the operating population, which promotes better occupational health and reduced absenteeism, thus contributing to a safer and more productive work environment.
