Evaluación a la mediación en centros de ciencia de la región pacífico: aproximación desde la apropiación social del conocimiento

The present article is an exploration of the role of science centers in the context of Social Knowledge Appropriation in Colombia. The article proposes a framework for evaluating the mediation and interaction activities of science centers with their audiences, drawing upon the experience of nine science centers in the Pacific region. The evaluation framework is informed by a qualitative approach, incorporating interviews, observations and a documentary review. The analysis of this experience has resulted in the proposal of a set of criteria with the aim of strengthening the evaluative culture and the mediation processes, adopting a social appropriation of knowledge approach. This will promote greater territorial incidence and the construction of knowledge through participation. The article concludes with the presentation of an evaluation tool that allows analysis of mediation based on the social appropriation principles of recognition of the context, participation, dialogue of knowledge, transformation and critical reflection.
