Evolución del crecimiento verde en México: Efectos de la destrucción creativa ecológica a través de una serie temporal

Creative destruction is a process through which economic growth is generated by constant innovation, driven by a competitive environment among companies. In environmental terms, green creative destruction arises from green innovations. The objective of this research is to present the impact of these innovations on green growth in Mexico. The study employs a dynamic time-series model for analysis. Empirical evidence suggests that there is no relationship between the development of environmental technologies and green growth, demonstrating that the generation of environment-related technologies that "destroy" existing ones does not promote green growth in Mexico. However, the returns on human capital do have a significant and positive influence. According to the findings of this research, in terms of green growth for the Mexican economy, a Research and Development (R&D) approach should be analysed to encourage the development of more green innovations that foster ecological creative destruction.
