Evaluación productiva de cabritos criollos (Capra hircus) con suplementación de alimento balanceado y forraje verde hidropónico de maíz y el efecto sobre los parámetros orgonométricos
The present research work was carried out in the province of Santa Elena and the objective was to evaluate the productive behavior and the assessment of carcass quality and organometry of Creole kids with the supplementation of a balanced diet and hydroponic green corn forage (FVHM). For the experimental work, 12 kids of 2-3 months of age post weaning were used, each treatment (T0: grazing only; T1: 5% balanced and 25% FVH; T2: 5% balanced and 50% FVH; T3: 5% balanced and 75% FVH), the experimental phase lasted 60 days and the weight recording was carried out every seven days, the animals were fed considering 3% DM according to their live weight, for the slaughter of the goats it was given a 24-hour fast. In the main results, the final weight of phase I and II indicated highly significant differences due to the addition of concentrated feed that was assessed according to their increase in live weight, showing values of between 3 to 5 kg for the animals that were supplemented. the diet, in which T3 received 75% of FVHM and 5% of balanced, weighing an average of 5 kg more, while T2 and T1 increased by 3 kg; For the organometry evaluation, the results of the variables of LW, CP and CR (%) presented highly significant differences, where the best result was presented in T1 with a carcass yield of 43.15% and T3 obtaining a live kid weight of 14 kg and 5.38 kg carcass weight, this due to its high nutritional value therefore it is considered an alternative feeding because it can be planted throughout the year considering the high periods of food shortages in the study conditions.
