El potencial filosófico de la teoría de las catástrofes

Abstract: In this paper we will study the philosophical potential of René Thom's theory of catastrophes. From the field of mathematics in which it arises, this theory has generated a vast literature about diverse applications in other branches far from mathematics. The aim is to explain the main points of the theory in accordance with the ontological conception on which it rests, an ontology of becoming, immanent and relational. We will present the theory of catastrophes as an analytical and critical tool, offering some examples of application.
