El Plan de Transformación Agraria: avances y límites de la colonización oficial (Entre Ríos, 1934-1938)
In Argentina, the capitalist crisis of 1929 had an impact on the agro-export-based economy. This adverse context for farmers accelerated migration to urban areas, a situation that prompted a search for solutions, including projects to encourage them to remain in rural areas. In this way, some provinces managed to move forward with agricultural colonization legislation - as was the case of Entre Ríos - which reissued previous precedents and led to the founding of six colonies. This article reconstructs the institutional components that gave shape to Law Nº 2.985 of 1934, the characteristics of the organization of the agricultural colonization nuclei and the first diagnoses made by the state agents in charge of its implementation.
