Diseño e Implementación de una Aplicación de Menú Digital para el BAR Escolar

This study presents the design and implementation of a mobile digital menu application for the cafeteria at San José “La Salle” High School, with the objective of enhancing service efficiency and reducing waiting times during school breaks. A quantitative, descriptive research design was employed, using surveys administered to 183 secondary students who evaluated the proposed technological solution based on its usefulness and potential benefits. The results indicate that over 90% of participants believe the application would decrease waiting times, streamline food selection, and optimize their break periods. Students also expressed interest in additionalfeatures such as advance ordering, mobile payments, order history, personalized suggestions, and nutritional information. These findings align with previous research emphasizing the positive impact of digital menus on operational organization and user experience. The development process drew on mobile programming expertise, supported institutionally, and resulted in a technical solution implemented as a Progressive Web App (PWA) with offline functionality. Identified limitations include the exclusive focuson the student population and the absence of a pilot implementation phase. The study concludes that the proposed tool is viable for integration into the school’s operational and organizational framework. Future research should incorporate real-world testing and engage other stakeholders within the educational community.
