Desvelando Comunidades Científicas: Um estudo histórico-bibliométrico em periódicos brasileiros de Psicologia (1949-1973)

This article aimed to identify and describe characteristics of the scientific-professional field of Brazilian Psychology at the time of its regulation in 1962, through data extracted from two of the first Brazilian Psychology journals. The primary sources were the summaries of editions from these journals published between 1949 and 1973. Methodologically, this is a Social History of Psychology research with analytical strategies from Sociobibliometrics. Data analysis was based on Bourdieu’s concepts (scientific field and habitus) to discuss patterns of authorship, genre, and circulating themes. The results indicate a preponderance of singular authorship, prevalence of women as authors and predominance of Psychological Evaluation and Psychodiagnosis themes, which supports other studies that investigated this period in the constitution of Brazilian Psychology. Furthermore, low communication was observed between journals, despite being part of the same scientific field.
