Comprobación experimental de la simetría en la tensión de un sistema mecánico utilizando Tracker

This article explores the angle-dependent tension in a mechanical system consisting of two masses connected by a string and passing over pulleys with negligible friction, thus complementing a previous study (Andrade et al., 2024). One mass is released from rest, and as it descends to a specific angle, it develops sufficient tension to lift the other mass, which is connected to the string at the opposite end and initially at rest on the ground. The motion of one mass is oscillatory, while the other mass initially ascends and then descends, throughout this bidirectional motion, it is crucial to analyze the involved variables, as some can be measured directly, and others indirectly. The experimental setup was implemented, and a video of the motion was recorded and analyzed using Tracker software (Douglas et al., 2007) evidence of the symmetry of the tension in the string was found through the velocity acquired by the oscillating mass. The calculated error percentages for the tension are acceptable and support a significant conclusion about this system.
