The European automotive industry is the third-largest consumer of plastics, following packaging and construction [2]. Amid mounting concerns about plastic waste and resource inefficiency, a new study by Baldassarre et al. [3] investigates how recycled plastics can be more effectively integrated into vehicle manufacturing. This research supports the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan and the proposed revision of the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) regulation introduced in 2023.
