Comparación de las Condiciones de Salud en Áreas Urbanas y Rurales

Access to healthcare services presents significant disparities between rural and urban areas, influenced by socioeconomic, geographical, and infrastructural factors. This study aims to analyze the differences in healthcare access in these regions and their impact on disease prevalence and resource availability. The methodology involved reviewing international and national studies addressing the distribution of healthcare resources, disease prevalence, and factors affecting healthcare access in different contexts. Among the key findings, rural areas face greater shortages of infrastructure, specialized personnel, and medical resources, limiting timely access to care and increasing the prevalence of infectious diseases. In contrast, in urban areas, the prevalence of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes has risen due to urban lifestyles. The lack of continuous training and the shortage of skilled personnel were common issues in both areas. Additionally, socioeconomic factors such as education level and income influence healthcare access. In conclusion, health policies should focus on improving the equitable distribution of resources, training medical personnel, and ensuring access to healthcare in both areas, addressing the limitations of current studies, such as the lack of representativeness.
