Competitividad logística regional en el Ecuador: análisis de infraestructura, servicios y movilidad por zonas geográficas

Logistical performance is a key driver of economic growth and territorial integration in Ecuador. Regional differences in capacities and resources affect competitiveness and market access. This study aims to analyze the logistical competitiveness of Ecuador’s regions (Coast, Highlands, Insular, and Oriente) by evaluating existing infrastructure, available logistics services, and mobility conditions. A quantitative-descriptive approach was employed, using the National Logistics Survey and the Regional Logistics Competitiveness Index (RLCI) as instruments. The results reveal disparities: the Insular Region ranks as the most competitive due to its solid port and airport infrastructure, as well as its robust offering of specialized logistics services. In contrast, the Oriente Region faces serious structural deficiencies that impact its connectivity and operational efficiency. The Highlands and Coast show partial strengths but face critical limitations in urban mobility, security, and nighttime logistics.
