Caminos feministas hacia la comprensión holista de la opresión. Una puesta en diálogo entre Iris Marion Young y los feminismos descoloniales

This text presents an expository tracing of two of the main proposals for constructing a Marxist feminism formulated throughout the 20th century. On one hand, the dual system theories, supported by Heidi Hartmann, are highlighted, which advocate for the independent conceptualization of patriarchy and capitalism. On the other hand, the emphasis is placed on the unitary theory defended by Iris Marion Young, who characterizes both systems of oppression under the umbrella of a single “capitalist patriarchy”. The presentation of this debate is carried out with the purpose of supporting the thesis I hold here, namely: that the conceptualization of the complex “capitalist patriarchy” constitutes one of the first attempts from feminisms to holistically understand the various axes of social domination. The interest that decolonial feminisms show in this same endeavor, albeit from other genealogies, legitimizes the dialogue that here is established between these different feminist traditions.
