The Bodyssey Kit : Hitta tillbaka till kroppen hemma

This thesis investigates how specially designed interactive objects can help people develop a beneficial, reflective awareness of their bodies that fits naturally into daily life, moving beyond the constant pressure to optimize. While digital technologies are deeply integrated with our bodies, they often create a distance from the body, making it harder to notice subtle physical cues or overwhelming us with data that lacks useful context. To address this, the Bodyssey Kit is introduced: a collection of tangible, interactive artifacts designed to gently draw attention to quiet, often subconscious, bodily experiences. This work demonstrates how subtle, low-tech, and ambient engagement can facilitate a profound sensory reconnection. It also explores the concept of using fleeting interactions to encourage reflection on daily routines. A critical discussion examines the dual nature of awareness, arguing for ethical design that prioritizes well-being over simply amplifying data. Finally, the thesis advocates for technology that values human experience over efficiency, critiquing the prevailing drive for constant output. Ultimately, this research proposes designing for a more humane, sustainable, and embodied relationship with technology.
