Caracterização física e térmica do BCCA (Bloco Celular de Concreto Autoclavado) –Ensaio de transferência de calor por câmara de aquecimento monitorada
In Brazil, the history of using autoclaved aeratedconcrete (AAC) blocks dates back to the 1960s. The technology was introduced into the country by foreign companies and gained prominence mainly from the 1970s onward. The first AAC block factory in Brazil was opened in 1973 in the city of Itaúna, Minas Gerais. The AAC block is valued for its lightness, thermal and acoustic insulation, durability, and ease of cutting and fixing. This material concept is widely used in the construction of walls and partitions, contributing to more energy-efficient buildings. Thus, through conducting various physical and mechanical characterization tests, a proper primary characterization of this material was achieved. Expanding this investigation, an adaptation of a chamber for studying heat flow through AAC was conceived, where the monitoring of the heating and cooling rate of the block was engineered. In the results regarding heat flow, AAC revealed an ability to delay effective heat transfer. This concept is of great importance for thermal comfort in built environments due to its regulation of internal temperature, consequently resulting in relative energy savings.
