Avances tecnológicos en la medicina veterinaria: un análisis bibliométrico

Technology has profoundly transformed veterinary medicine by providing innovative tools for diagnosis, treatment, reproduction, monitoring and animal welfare. In this context, the present study analyzed scientific production related to the application of technologies in veterinary medicine, through the identification of trends, key actors and predominant topics in the field. The research was developed through a quantitative bibliometric review, using the Scopus database, from which 938 relevant studies were extracted. For the analysis of the metadata, the R Studio software was used, through the bibliometrix package, which made it possible to visualize and systematize the information. Among the main results, there is a sustained growth in publications since 2016, with the United States and China as the most productive countries, and with a predominance of scientific articles. The most relevant topics include artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, advanced imaging, 3D printing and reproductive technologies. Overall, the bibliometric indicators applied made it possible to characterize the evolution of the field, identify the most cited papers and recognize the emerging areas that set the research agenda in technology and veterinary medicine.
