The book proposes the thesis that conflicts in the Middle East are causing two major crises: terrorism and migration. They create serious challenges for their resolution by Arab and European countries, including the Bulgarian state. Bulgaria’s refusal to pursue an independent foreign policy and to develop diplomatic and economic relations with the Arab states has had its negative impact. And the contemporary conflicts in the Middle East have a negative impact on national security in terms of terrorism and migration. In relation to these challenges, policies are proposed to minimize the impact of military and civil conflicts in the Middle East on our national security.
