The article provides an update on the formation of a sustainable scientific and pedagogical institution (department) and its significance for the productive advancement of architectural science in Ukraine. Such an institution establishes a framework for the transfer of knowledge, its organization, ensures the continuity of research, facilitates the emergence of multiple generations of scientist-architects, and, over time, develops the characteristics of a scientific school. It is a collective of like-minded scientists of different generations, unified by a common system of views, approaches to problem-solving, working and thinking styles, ideas, and methods of conducting scientific and research activities. The article examines the impact of the scientific direction "Modelling and forecasting of processes and phenomena in architecture" on the formation and productivity of the scientific school. This scientific direction considers architectural activity as a complete system capable of development, change, self-organization, and purposeful management. A methodology has been developed based on creating structural-logical and stimulation models, which allows for the targeted reform, forecasting, regulation, and management of processes in architecture. The efficacy of the methodology is substantiated by the ongoing assessment and recommendations pertaining to the legislative and regulatory processes in architecture, as well as pioneering research areas explored by scientists from diverse generations. The analysis of the scientific and pedagogical activities of the Department of Information Technologies in Architecture of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture reveals a diverse range of research topics, their inherent problems, relevance and effectiveness. This is achieved through the utilization of a developed universal methodology, which contributes to the emergence of a multitude of pertinent scientific research. The analysis conducted allows us to state that over the course of the Department's 20-year existence, the formation of a scientific school has been observed. This has been achieved through the implementation of a complex methodology comprising a range of techniques and technologies, which have facilitated the advancement of modern Ukrainian architecture and science.
