Архівна артепістема кордоцентризму versus дескілінг

This paper explores the confrontation between two dominant paradigms in contemporary visual culture: the commodified spectacle of pan-European deskilling, characteristic of the globalized technogenic society, and the archival art episteme rooted in the archetypal cultural memory of Ukraine, particularly the concept of cordocentrism. Through a systemic-comparative critical analysis of cultural and creative strategies, the study highlights the potential of Ukraine’s long-standing “philosophy of the heart” as an effective worldview model in image-making practices. This stands in stark contrast to the increasing entropy of postmodern consumerist ideology, where institutionalized mercantilism contributes to the erosion of both professional and individual consciousness—a trend reflected in the notable decline of the Flynn effect. The paper concludes that rethinking the cordocentric art episteme may offer a path to overcoming the current bifurcation of cognitive frameworks and the worldview hysteresis. This reorientation could not only address the crisis of cultural identity in Ukraine but also contribute to the broader “epistemological recalibration” of global art in the postliberal era.
