Correction of displacement response estimates obtained from floor acceleration data using SDOF analysis for building damage assessments

Estimation of the low-frequency component of displacement response is difficult due to the sensitivity of choice of filtering and low-frequency noise effects. This paper looks to address this issue by acceleration recordings to develop and SDOF model of the building, and then using results from analysis using the SDOF model and the wavelet transform method to provide a more accurate displacement estimate. This proposed method was verified using experimental data of a 3-story RC building tested at E-Defense.
