ПЕДАГОГІКА ПОГРАНИЧЧЯ: ПРАКТИЧНІ ФОРМАЦІЇ ТА ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ

This article presents the results of the scientific and practical forum “Pedagogy of the Borderland: Practical Formations and Prospects” held at the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. Korolenko on April 16, 2025. The event was dedicated to analyzing the conceptual, methodological and applied foundations of borderland pedagogy as a modern tool for teaching tolerance. The focus was on the author's educational program “The construct of borderland pedagogy as a methodological basis for teaching tolerance”, which structurally consists of eight modules covering theoretical concepts, methods of intercultural communication, inclusion, conflictology and evaluation of pedagogical results. The forum included discussion panels, interactive formats (“My Borders”, “Carpet of Tolerance”, photo project “Tolerance in My Life”, “Country of Tolerance”), and a public discussion of the program with the participation of education professionals, public figures, and students. Particular attention is paid to the results of a survey of 50 forum participants, which provided empirical data on the relevance of the topic. In particular, 64 % of respondents consider it advisable to introduce a course on border pedagogy, and 42 % support the creation of a separate course. The main barriers identified were insufficient training of teachers (40 %) and low student motivation (34 %). Participants expressed their expectations to increase the level of tolerance, improve interaction in the educational environment, and develop professional competencies in the field of inclusion. As a result of the forum, specific recommendations were formulated to adapt the program to the needs of different target audiences and the prospects for its further implementation in the educational trajectory. Prospects for further research, including the development of practical models of socio-cultural integration through education, are outlined.
