Problem of Authorship in Algorithmic Practices of Script Writing for a Theatre Performance

The purpose of the research is to identify the problem of subjectivity and authorship of performances created with the help of artificial intelligence technology. The ChatGPT language model and deep learning algorithms will be used to investigate the ability of artificial intelligence to create convincing scenarios for theatrical productions. The research methodology is based on an integrated approach and is based on a combination of several methods: analytical – when considering historical, philosophical, cultural, and art studies literature on the subject of research; theoretical and conceptual method – when analyzing the conceptual and terminological system of research and identifying the features of the introduction of artificial intelligence technology in the process of creating spectacular forms; comparative and typological – to compare the specifics of AI functioning and the traditional way of writing scenes. The scientific novelty is that the research findings highlight both the potential and limitations of artificial intelligence in theatre and therefore, it is necessary to balance the content created by artificial intelligence. The study contributes to understanding the impact of artificial intelligence on theatre. The article raises questions about audience engagement and the authenticity of content created with the help of neuroscience. Conclusions. Despite the fact that AI has made significant progress in scriptwriting, it remains clear that human playwrights are the main subjects of creative activity. The ability of AI to analyze large amounts of data and generate content based on patterns and structures has its advantages, which help to increase efficiency and potentially expand the scope of theatrical possibilities. Technological limitations are manifested in the lack of extensive empirical research on the implementation of algorithmic practices in the stage space. In the future, it is necessary to investigate the long-term impact of AI-generated content on the theatre audience (recipient), the ethical implications of AI in the creative process, the issues of authorship, creativity, and the potential displacement of human roles in theatre. In terms of future trends, it is important to maintain a balance between the innovative potential of AI and the irreplaceable touch of human creativity in theatre.
