Policy analysis : Croatian fisheries policy : development of the local market and strengthening local community

This policy analysis addresses the topic of the development of Croatian fisheries within local communities. Given the broad scope of the fisheries sector, the focus is placed on the local market, where a concerning phenomenon has been identified: the lack of demand for freshly caught fish from residents. Incremental policy alternatives have been proposed, aimed at deepening connections among local actors. The final evaluation compares provided recommendations and advocates for intervention through a nationwide project that would use official labels or stickers as a guarantee of freshness, quality, and domestic origin of the fish being sold.
