La tradición musical como camino : Conversaciones con Carlos Herrero y Héctor Castrillejo de El Naán
The Palencia music group El Naán makes their own the famous phrase pronounced by the post-Romantic composer Gustav Mahler “Tradition is the transmission of fire, not the worship of ashes” their own. Through their music they soak up the legacy offered by their ancestors, escaping from the fossilisation of texts and melodies, something that happens when tradition is alive and is used by groups in their historical time. The result is a musical product that helps us to think about the creation and transmission of the word as logos and as sign and its relationship with the world. In the interview we reflect with Carlos Herrero Pérez and Héctor Castrillejo San Millán on cultural memory and its transmission and adaptation to knowledge.
