Hocam Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz’ın Ardından

Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz, one of the leading figures of Turkic Studies, passed away on February 6, 2025 at the age of 103. Korkmaz, who devoted his life to science and Turkish language studies, was interested in every period and every issue of Turkish language; He created a school with his views and approaches in these works and the methods he applied. He has more than 20 books and more than 200 articles. His dialect studies have set an example for the dialect studies conducted after him in terms of the compilation and analysis methods used. He has many works on historical and present Oghuz Turkish and Turkish. He is one of the most prominent figures working on Turkish language in the Republican period.
