Finding an Antibiotic Producing Bacteria
In our world today we are running the danger of encountering pathogenic bacteria that is not susceptible to any of the current antibiotics. One of the leading factors of this problem exists today because of the amount of antibiotics being prescribed when not needed. In the research done using soil provided by Dr. Cunningham, a serial dilution was completed. When finished the resulting TSA plates were collected. Bacteria showing inhibition zones were transferred onto a master plate and incubated. Proceeding the incubation each of the potential candidates was screened against safe ESKAPES. One showed inhibition against Staphylococcus epidermidis. These experiments provided potential candidates that may be effective in inhibiting pathogenic bacteria.
