Supplement_Clinical details of each Case.pdf
This file links to the paper entitled Blood Pressure in Human Large Cerebral Arteries: A Feasibility StudyWe present five cases of BBP measures made at the University of Iowa Health Care facility. Each participant provided written and informed consent (IRB #202311232) with procedures that align with the Declaration of Helsinki. This study explored the feasibility of making direct measures of blood pressure in the large arteries at the base of the brain in intact humans.Measures were made with an optical bloodo pressure sensor positioned in the aorta, common carotid, internal carotid artery external to the cranium, internal carotid artery within the cranium, and/or middle cerebral artery, M1 segment. Studies were performed during interventional neurosurgery using catheterization and a pressure sensor wire. Measures varied across individuals as did the pressure gradient from systemic pressures to those measured in the MCA.The Supplement material describes each participant's age, sex, health conditions and surgical notes from clinical files.
