Information Technology and Libraries
<p dir="ltr">Advancements in information technology have confronted today's society with unprecedented changes. The application of this technology in society and libraries, as a type of organization, involves three stages: modernization, innovation, and transformation. The final stage in libraries occurs with the conversion of print resources to digital formats, affecting all dimensions of the library. In the past two decades, a new generation of libraries known as digital libraries has emerged, providing information and services in a networked environment. Nevertheless, for various reasons, libraries are expected to continue offering both digital and print services in a hybrid and simultaneous manner for the foreseeable future. The book "Information Technology and Libraries" outlines the impact of information technology on society and organizations, and discusses the role of this technology in libraries and its various dimensions, including materials and resources, librarians and users, and services.</p>
