Cooperação virtual e ODS nas universidades do espaço ibero-americano. Ferramentas de inovação no ensino do ciberjornalismo / Virtual cooperation and SDG in the universities of the Ibero-American space. Innovation tools in the teaching of online journ
This article analyses three educational innovation projects in the field of cyberjournalism, developed by the KZBerri research group at the University of the Basque Country (2015–2020). These initiatives aim to bridge curricular gaps in communication programmes by fostering professional cultures aligned with current demands in digital media. Emphasising values such as entrepreneurship, creativity and collaborative work in international and convergent environments, the projects employ methodologies such as project-based learning (PBL), inquiry-based learning, and virtual cooperation. Two of the projects explore the concept of “Internationalisation at Home” (IaH), integrating virtual exchanges between students and institutions from Brazil, Portugal and Spain. A third initiative applies transmedia storytelling to foster transversal competences through Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Evaluation of student outputs, peer assessments, and qualitative feedback indicates that these innovative pedagogies enhance engagement, intercultural communication, and digital literacy. This study underlines the relevance of combining digital tools, international cooperation and socially oriented journalism education to equip students with essential skills for contemporary newsrooms.
